There are three projects for biggest bank in Central and Eastern Europe, it’s Sberbank. Mobile workplaces for work «in the field» and remote business registration for iOS and Android. It’s hard to explain all process, because it was not linear. You know, iterates (research, prototype, test, learn some stuff, researched some more, prototyped again, tested again, learned more…).
🏆 Awards: Global Finance names the Most Innovative Banks and Fintech Companies by Region as part of the Innovatorsa at 2020. In Central & Eastern Europe it’s Sberbank. One of the ten achievement was this product «ID Point», it gives an opportunity of remote opening of an individual entrepreneur account and it improved UX of clients a lot. You can find out more.
Technical challenges
Simply hold your smartphone up to your identification documents and the mobile app will register you as a businessperson. It is, of course, a unique product and you will not find any similar solutions. We conducted many design-thinking sessions, as well as research, interviews and usability tests, in order to gather all the information needed to create the final design.

Only an animation can explain how to use NFC with a foreign passport. We created a variety of animations to educate our customers and tested all hypotheses in UX tests.
In fact, different phones have NFC readers in different parts of the device, so it’s difficult to provide precise instructions on how to place your phone on the passport page. Furthermore, passports only have one of four different types of chip, and not all NFC readers can read all types of chip. I created a special video to show our customers the correct sequence of actions.

Do you know the difference between simplicity and minimalism? In minimalism, you can create lots of mockups, but they will all look the same. I tried to apply this principle to the Android version of the design, interpreting all cases through a few visual components. As a result, all the cases look similar and use a common user experience. But behind the scenes, they are absolutely different cases.
As a product designer, I was always worried about the future of my project. In the world of mobile development, providing developers with only mock-ups and requirements is not enough. So, I oversaw the work of iOS developers throughout the process to ensure an excellent result. We analysed all user sessions and identified the stages that caused users the most difficulty. We used a sales funnel to view the entire application processing and document retrieval process. We also checked how people interact with text fields. The presence or absence of fields and prompts improves or worsens the user experience.
Several hypotheses were developed and used to create prototypes. These prototypes were tested on respondents and it turned out that the first step was the bottleneck in the scheme. A cohort analysis was also conducted, which revealed that people were leaving due to poor UX or because they needed time to think. Many of these people returned the next day and were converted.

Our client is Sberbank, the biggest Russian bank. They needed a great way to apply for the Sberbank Non-State Pension Fund. Any client can visit an office and complete the relevant form for these services. However, many clients may be disabled, retired or unable to work. They need to send a messenger with an iPad and a cable-free portable printer. We developed this application and considered every possible scenario.
